The Gospel is not a knowledge, it is not something we can keep for ourselves, but it is a message, a good news what we shall pass on!

What does it mean to evangelize?

The Greek word for it means „to proclaim a good news”. So evangelizing is to pass on the good news that JESUS CHRIST has died for our sins, on the third day he has risen from the dead according to the scriptures, he has ascended to the Father and now he offers the forgiveness of our sins, the leadership and consolation of the Holy Spirit for those, who repent and believe in Him.

The „proclamation of the good news”, the announcement of Christ as Saviour and Lord and as the history maker includes calling upon people to come to Him personally and to be reconciled to God also.

Jesus does not show favoritism, he does not care for the social level of the people or the colour of our skin. He is calling everyone who is ready to confess his/her sins and to deny himself/herself and to take up his/her cross (Luke 9:23). The result of evangelism is obedience to Christ, integration to His Church and the eternal life.

What happens when one receives the Gospel?

New birth:

„For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” (1 Peter 1:23)

New heritage:

„This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 3:6)

New seal:

„And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession – to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14)

New life:

„But it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:10)

Evangelism is a task for each Christian! That is why we do it and we gladly accept all invitations to evangelize, for we believe that in order to see revival we should not only pray but act as well.
